Partner 16: The University of Sheffield
The University of Sheffield provides a broad range of research and education in a wide range of topics. The Pennine Water Group (PWG) is an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funded Platform Grant centre (the only centre of Water Research Excellence in the UK to receive three such grants) dedicated to research into water and wastewater. Group activities include fundamental and applied research, the implementation and dissemination of research outputs and the provision of education and training. The mission of the PWG is to advance engineering and scientific knowledge across all aspects of distributed urban water infrastructure, with a bias to industrially led research. There is a team of over 50 multidisciplinary researchers based in eight different University Departments. The PWG will collaborate with Cybula (a spin out SME from ACA group, Computer Science, University of York) on SW4E.
