UNESCO-IHP – W-SMART – IWA-SGW2SM – City of Sydney
Purpose – Provide an international forum for experience sharing among drinking water and wastewater utilities, local governments, R&D institutions, international organizations and other stakeholders on disaster resiliency challenges facing metropolitan governments and their impacts on current utility management practices and capacity building strategies. Discussion sessions will focus on lessons learned from recent case studies and Interactive assessment of:
- Current practices of service resiliency improvement,
- Customer awareness initiatives,
- Crisis management capacity building strategies, as well as
- Deployment of state-of-the-art technology solutions and smart network monitoring systems,
Organization – Within the context of IWA World Water Congress, Brisbane, 9 – 14 October, 2016, the workshop is organized at the initiative of the W-SMART Association with the collaboration of UNESCO-IHP, IWA Specialists Group on Water Security and Safety Management and the City of Sydney as its host.
