Vernon Morris Company Ltd established in 2007 is a UK based SME the core business of the company is the development and manufacture of water and wastewater sensors. Core product of Vernon Morris is the Incertameter. The Incertameter was developed to provide a cost effective means of sub-metering DMA’s to reduce leakage and significantly increase the efficiency of the leakage detection activity. Incertameter is a key enabler for the development of SMART Water Networks by being able to be deployed to increase the granularity of pressure and flow data allowing water utilities to develop data analytic solutions to understand the DNA of their DMA’s and move to accurate real time detection and pinpointing of leakage. Vernon Morris have developed an open communication architecture through an intelligent ‘plug and play’ smart cable that can enable data transfer via radio or mobile data networks to any logger, telemetry or SCADA system. The flow meter itself is a basic turbine design, however the method of installation allows for accurate measurement of the pipe’s internal diameter. This allows the meter to be configured specifically to each location, thereby increasing the accuracy. Once in place, the ‘saddle’ fixing and integral shut-off valve can be used to ‘swap-in’ pressure transducers, turbidity monitors or hydrophones. Vernon Morris is currently developing a bayonet port that will allow customers to use the device as with a hydrophone and as a temperature and water quality monitoring point. Vernon Morris has an established customer base with all UK Water Companies and currently has distributors in Portugal, Australia, New Zealand, United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
